11U 2022-2023 Michigan Generals Coach Bio and Team Information

We are looking forward to our second year as a Michigan Generals team. If your daughter is 11 years old or younger on December 31, 2022, she is eligible to try out for this team. We are looking for competitive athletes who love to play softball, and want to improve their skills and learn the game, all while playing with teammates who are committed to the team's success. Please fill out this form and coach Julie will contact you with tryout information and other details.

Coach Julie Aubrey Bio:
My name is Julie Aubrey (Warren) and this will be my second year with the Michigan Generals Fastpitch Club. I was a three sport varsity athlete at Birmingham Groves High School. I attended Michigan State University on a softball scholarship and know first hand what it takes to play at the division 1 level. I earned a secondary teaching degree and master's degree from MSU and have taught skills for living and English at the middle and high school levels.

As a player I was fortunate to have some incredible coaches and have always enjoyed sharing my experience and expertise to teach girls the game. I have coached at both the developmental and comparative levels. I focus on teaching fundamentals and metal toughness; encouraging players to have a growth mindset and strive to better themselves. I am passionate about helping girls develop life skills that will help them succeed in their future. I expect every player to work hard, to commit time and effort to improving her skills and to show good sportsmanship at all times. I expect the same from parents.

I live in Bingham Farms with my husband and our two daughters. I love to travel, spend time with family and friends and horseback ride. I’m looking forward to another great softball season in 2022-2023!

It is important to me that my daughter plays for, and I coach in an organization that is trustworthy, honest and transparent. The Michigan Generals is an organization where players are developed, coaches are experienced and dedicated and the program has a family feel. It is not an organization with multiple teams at every age group, nor does it charge the highest fees. It is an “A” level club, which means we will compete in “A” level tournaments that are mostly USA, PFG and USSSA sanctioned.

This team’s purpose is to teach players the game, to develop their skills and to encourage teamwork. All this while also ensuring a safe and positive environment where the focus is development, competitiveness and fun! We are looking for players who LOVE to play, want to learn and are willing to strive for the team’s success.

This team is based out of the metro Detroit area. Our outdoor practices will be at North Farmington High School, our winter practices will be held at Oakland Yard in Waterford and The Bullpen in Novi. We will practice 1-2 times a week in September and October and play 2-3 fall tournaments in the metro Detroit area. Our winter workouts will be 1 day a week for 1-2 hours January - March. Players are encouraged to play other sports and become well rounded athletes. Players must be born in 2011 or 2012. Spring and Summer will consist of practice 2 days a week and 6-9 tournaments in the midwest, May- July.

If this team sounds like what you and your daughter are looking for please come to our Open Tryout Monday, July 25 6-8 pm at North Farmington High School. (32900 W. 13 Mile Rd.) *See website for Preregistration link.
